Clearing your mark: a matter of interpretation.

As an alternative to the regular availability search, we also offer an availability search with interpretation. Both Latin and Chinese versions of the mark are covered in a single search.

The searches are conducted in the official records of the local Chinese Trademark Office and a private database. In addition, we conduct an identical screening for China in Thomson CompuMark's unique worldwide screening database.

The availability search with intepretation also includes for each selected trademark:

  • the exact pronunciation of the mark,
  • the meaning of the Chinese characters,
  • the visual similarity aspects,
  • the grounds for selecting the mark,
  • the conclusion on the overall similarity.

Analysis and interpretation are made by local native speaking experts who take into account all the different aspects of the language and the local jurisprudence.
