SAEGIS® trademark research solution now screens marks in more than 35 international registers.
NORTH QUINCY, Mass., ANTWERP, Belgium and TOKYO, Japan (March 2, 2009) - Thomson CompuMark, the global leader in trademark research and brand protection solutions and part of Thomson Reuters (NYSE:TRI), today announced the addition of two new databases to its SAEGIS online trademark screening solution, providing coverage for Turkey and New Zealand. The new Turkey database is a Thomson CompuMark exclusive.
The new databases expand SAEGIS users' global reach, enabling them to quickly and easily perform "knock out" screening searches of trademarks in Turkey, New Zealand and more than 35 other international registers, simultaneously. Screening is a critical first step in the process of clearing trademarks for use in targeted markets.
"Turkey and New Zealand represent growing markets. This makes screening trademarks in these registers more important than ever," said Ronda Majure, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Thomson CompuMark. "Using SAEGIS to screen marks internationally helps brand owners manage their global risk when launching a new brand-quickly, conveniently and cost-effectively."
The new Turkey and New Zealand databases are extensive, encompassing more than 800,000 trademark records combined. Reports include record details, including trademark owner, country, class, and goods, as well as the latest trademark status. This in-depth information helps brand owners and IP professionals make more informed decisions about a proposed trademark.
