What Information Does Thomson CompuMark Collect and How Do We Use It?

Credit Card and Financial Information:  Since the SAEGIS service is offered on a subscription basis only, we have no need to collect credit card information from users when they are logged onto our web site. We do maintain personal account information in our databases so that we can bill you for the use of our service. This information is not available online and is not maintained on our web servers.

Personally Identifying Information:  Each of our subscribers is assigned a unique user name and password that allows them to use the information and services available on our web site and to access their personal electronic inbox. This information is maintained for authentication and verification purposes only, that is, to ensure that everyone using the subscription-based information and services on our site are authorized to do so. Password and user ID information are encrypted in all communications.

Thomson CompuMark does not collect information on visitors who only browse or use the free information available on our site.

User Activity: Thomson CompuMark logs "chargeable events" so that we can bill our customers for their use of the subscription-based information and services on our web site. We also log a subscriber's search activity so that a user can resume work at a later time. This information is stored for only seven days, and then it is purged from our system.

We track when users access documents in their Inbox, as well as what searches have been routed to or forwarded from their Inbox. We also store feedback and information on customer search orders placed via our web site, but this information is kept strictly confidential and only used internally.

Any customer use information and statistics we do store is used internally for marketing purposes, to evolve and adjust subscription rates, to target users for new features, for testing, and for training.

We DO NOT share customer identification or web site use information with any persons or companies outside our organization, and DO NOT sell or otherwise make this information available to third parties for sales or marketing purposes.

Use of "Cookies":  A "cookie" is a small piece of data, which is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive . Thomson CompuMark uses cookies technology in order to aid in authentication and customization.

Links to Other Sites:  There are links on our web site that take you to web sites or web pages outside of our service. The privacy and security policies and practices of these sites are beyond our control and Thomson CompuMark advises its users to take adequate measures to protect themselves when accessing or browsing other sites.
